For 1990-2009 cars only
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Clean the area around the fill plug.
- If equipped with a EatonĀ® FullerĀ® FS series transmission, remove the oil fill plug (1).
- If equipped with a EatonĀ® FullerĀ® RT series transmission, remove the oil fill plug (2).
- If equipped with a SpicerĀ® ES transmission, remove the oil fill plug.
- Using your index finger, inspect the oil level.
- If oil level is low, add until correct.
- If equipped with a EatonĀ® FullerĀ® transmission, use EatonĀ® RoadrangerĀ® CD50 transmission fluid.
- If equipped with a SpicerĀ® transmission, use SpicerĀ® MIL-2104 D API-SF, or API-CD transmission fluid.
- Ensure that the oil is level with the fill plug opening.
- Install the oil fill plug.
- If equipped with a EatonĀ® FullerĀ® RT series transmission, install the oil fill plug (2).
- If equipped with a EatonĀ® FullerĀ® FS series transmission, install the oil fill plug (1).
- Lower the vehicle.
Important: When adding oil, types and brands of oil should not be mixed because of possible incompatibility.

Tighten
If equipped with a SpicerĀ® transmission tighten the oil fill plug to 45 NĀ·m (33 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the oil fill plug to 82 NĀ·m (60 lb ft).
