Some customers may comment on reduced engine power along with illumination of the Service Engine Soon (SES) light. Upon investigation, technicians may find Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTCs) P0107 (Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit Low Voltage) or P0108 (Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit High Voltage) set. Upon diagnosis, technicians may also notice that the MAP sensor has become disconnected.
The air cleaner housing may be contacting the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor connector. Engine vibration may cause the air cleaner housing to contact and, over time, disconnect the MAP sensor connector due to the close proximity of the housing to the connector. When this occurs, engine power is reduced and the SES light illuminates.
A new air cleaner housing has been released that provides additional clearance between the housing and the MAP sensor connector. Replace the air cleaner assembly on affected vehicles. Be sure to reconnect the MAP sensor connector and clear all DTCs. Refer to the Parts Information below.
Refer to the Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement procedure in the Engine Controls-6.6L sub-section of SI.
