Some customers may comment on an SES/MIL lamp illuminated with reduced engine power and /or lack of performance. This condition mainly occurs when the vehicle is loaded to near capacity and operating in high ambient temperature areas. Upon further investigation, the technician may find DTCs P0106 and/or P0107.
The air duct between the air cleaner housing and the turbo inlet restricts air flow. The restriction is caused by the duct collapsing under high engine loads. The duct material is not hard enough to prevent collapsing of the airway when the vehicle is operated with extreme underhood temperatures and high air flow demand.
Check to see if the air cleaner outlet duct collapses on acceleration. Use the following test procedure:
If the duct collapses, the duct must be replaced with new P/N 25815251. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in SI. After replacement, any MAP Sensor codes, stored in the ECM, must be cleared.
