  1. Clean the cassette tape player with a non-abrasive cleaning cassette, refer to Cassette Player Care and Cleaning .
  2. Play a good selection from a known good cassette tape. Time the selection.
  3. Compare the audio quality and time with the same tape in a known good player.

Is the selection time for the concern tape player between 1 second/minute faster and 2 seconds/minute slower, when compared to the known good tape player?

Cassette tape player is operating properly.

Advise customer of proper cleaning procedures and intervals.

Was cause of the concern described to the customer?

Send the radio in for repair of the cassette tape player. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
