  1. Turn the ignition ON with the engine off.
  2. Attempt to operate the left turn signals.
  3. Attempt to operate the right turn signals.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Visually and physically examine the turn signal bulbs on the affected side of the vehicle.
  2. Replace any defective bulbs.

Did you replace defective bulbs?

  1. Turn the ignition ON with the engine off.
  2. Activate the turn signal for the side that is inoperative.
  3. At connector C200, backprobe to measure voltage at the location corresponding to the symptom.
  4. • If the left side is inoperative, measure voltage at connector C200 cavity A7.
    • If the right side is inoperative, measure voltage at connector C200 cavity A6.

Did the measurement equal battery voltage?

Replace the multifunction switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Repair the open circuit for the affected side of the vehicle:

    • If the left turn signals are inoperative, repair CKT 14 (LT BLU) between the turn signal switch and splice S236.
    • If the right turn signals are inoperative, repair CKT 15 (DK BLU) between the turn signal switch and splice S237.
