Removal Procedure
- Remove the front impact bar from the vehicle. Refer to
Front Bumper Impact Bar Replacement
.
- Mark the location of the bolts and the brackets to the bumper.
- Remove
the bolts (2) that retain the brackets (1) to the bumper (4)
and the bumper reinforcement (3).
- Remove the brackets (1) from the bumper (4) and
the bumper reinforcement (3).
Installation Procedure
- Install
the bracket (1) to the bumper (4) and the bumper reinforcement (3).
- Align the brackets (1) with the marks made prior to the
removal.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bumper
(4) and bumper reinforcement retaining bolts (2).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Install the front bumper impact bar to the vehicle. Refer to
