Was the Wiper/Washer System Check performed?

  1. Place the windshield washer/wiper switch in the OFF position.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Disconnect the connector at the windshield wiper motor.
  4. Connect an unpowered test lamp between windshield wiper motor connector cavity C of CKT 92 (PPL) and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect connector C200 at the steering column.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between connector C200, Pin E3 of CKT 92 (PPL) and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Connect a unpowered test lamp between windshield wiper motor connector cavity D of CKT 96 (BRN) and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 92 (PPL) between connector C200 and the windshield wiper motor.

Does the wiper still not shut off?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Repair the short to voltage in CKT 92 (PPL) pigtail in the steering column.
  2. If there is no short, then replace the multifunction lever. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Standard or Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Does the wiper still not shut off?

--

Go to Step 4

Go to Wiper/Washer System Check

  1. Disconnect connector C200 at the steering column.
  2. Connect an unpowered test lamp between connector C200, Pin E5 of CKT 96 (BRN) and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

Replace the windshield wiper motor.

Does the wiper still not shut off?

--

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage in CKT 96 (BRN) between connector C200 and the windshield wiper motor.

Does the wiper still not shut off?

Go to Step 10

  1. Repair the short to voltage in CKT 96 (BRN) pigtail in the steering column.
  2. If there is no short, then replace the multifunction lever. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Standard or Multifunction, Turn Signal and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column-Tilt.

Does the wiper still not shut off?
