1. Place the ignition switch in the OFF position or LOCK position.
2. Disconnect the connector at the headlamp switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Disconnect the connector at the illuminated entry module or at the remote control door lock receiver.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 156 (WHT) between the following components:

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Connect a J 39200 DMM between the headlamp switch connector, cavity B for CKT 157 (GRY), and ground.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to ground in CKT 157 (GRY) between the headlamp switch and the illuminated entry module or the remote control door lock receiver.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Go to Step 7

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Replace the illuminated entry module or the remote control door lock receiver.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Go to Step 8

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

1. Connect a J 39200 DMM between the headlamp switch connector, cavity L for CKT 328 (PPL), and ground.
2. Close all of the doors.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 10

Replace the headlamp switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

1. Reconnect the connector at the headlamp switch.
2. Observe that the dome lamps light.
3. Disconnect the connector at the left front door switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain lighted?

Replace the left front door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Go to Interior Lamps System Check

Disconnect the connector at the right front door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain lighted at all times?

Go to Step 14

Replace the right front door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Is the vehicle a factory-manufactured passenger van or a cargo van with side and rear doors?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 328 (PPL) between the headlamp switch and the door jamb switches.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Disconnect the connector at the side door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Replace the side door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated at all times?

Disconnect the connector at the rear door jamb switch.

Do the courtesy lamps or the dome lamps remain illuminated?
