Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands.

    2. Object Number: 284247 Size: SH
  2. Mark the position of the pitman arm to the pitman shaft.
  3. Remove the Pitman Arm. Refer to Pitman Arm Replacement in Steering Linkage (Non-Rack and Pinion).
  4. Drain the power steering fluid from the system.
  5. Replace the Pitman Shaft Seals. Refer to Steering Gear Pitman Shaft Seal and Bearing Replacement - Off Vehicle .

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the Pitman Shaft Seals. Refer to Steering Gear Pitman Shaft Seal and Bearing Replacement - Off Vehicle .
  2. Install the Pitman Arm to the steering gear. Refer to Pitman Arm Replacement in Steering Linkage (Non-Rack and Pinion).
  3. Fill the power steering system with fluid. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  4. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  5. Remove the safety stands.

    6. Lower the vehicle.
