Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Power Steering Pump

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 300811  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.

  4. Remove the mounting bolts (2) for the air conditioning compressor (1), if equipped.
  5. Move the compressor aside and support.
  6. Remove the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  7. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement in Power Steering Systems.

  8. Object Number: 288829  Size: SH
  9. Remove the three bolts holding the power steering pump to the power steering pump mounting bracket.
  10. The power steering pump can remain on the engine.


    Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  11. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the power steering pump mounting bracket to the engine.
  12. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket off the stud and power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  1. Slide the power steering pump mounting bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the three bolts for the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bracket to power steering pump bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement in Power Steering System.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor, if equipped. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Replacement in HVAC Systems with A/C - Manual.
  9. Install the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. Install the fan shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.

Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Generator

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 374484  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly and the air inlet duct from the throttle body. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  5. Remove the engine oil and the transmission fluid level indicators.
  6. Remove the screw holding the oil level indicator tube and the transmission fluid fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.
  7. Remove the upper section of the oil level indicator tube.

  9. Remove the nut holding the transmission fluid fill tube to the rear of the right cylinder head.
  10. Remove the upper section of the transmission fluid fill tube.

  11. Object Number: 374491  Size: SH
  12. Remove the screw holding the oil fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.
  13. Remove the oil fill tube.

  14. Object Number: 374493  Size: SH
  15. Remove the bolts holding the heater outlet and inlet hoses to the oil fill tube lower support.

  17. Remove the engine wiring harness retainer from the stud at the oil fill tube lower support.
  18. Remove the stud and the bolt for the oil fill tube lower support.
  19. Remove the oil fill tube lower support.

  20. Object Number: 196643  Size: SH
  21. Remove the upper fan shroud section. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  22. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  23. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  24. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  25. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  26. Remove the two bolts and nut holding the generator mounting bracket to the engine.
  27. Slide the generator mounting bracket off of the stud.

Installation Procedure

  1. Slide the generator mounting bracket on the stud.
  2. Instal the three bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the generator mounting bracket bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  5. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .
  6. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  8. Install the upper fan shroud section. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  9. Object Number: 374494  Size: SH
  10. Install the oil fill tube lower support, the bolt and the stud.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the oil fill tube lower support stud and the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the engine wiring harness retainer on the stud.

  13. Object Number: 374493  Size: SH
  14. Install the heater inlet and outlet hose brackets and the bolts to the oil fill tube lower support.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the heater hose bracket bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  16. Install the oil fill tube into the right valve rocker arm cover.
  17. Install the screw holding the oil fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.

  18. Object Number: 374490  Size: SH
  19. Install the transmission fluid fill upper tube in the lower tube.
  20. Install the nut holding the transmission fluid fill tube to the rear of the right cylinder head.
  21. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission fluid fill tube nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  22. Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004, or equivalent on the area of the upper section of the oil level indicator tube where it fits into the lower section.
  23. Install the upper section of the oil level indicator tube into the lower section.
  24. Install the screw holding the oil level indicator tube and the transmission fluid fill tube to the oil fill tube lower support.
  25. Install the engine oil level indicator and the transmission fluid level indicator.
  26. Install the air inlet duct to the throttle body and the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls.
  27. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  28. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  29. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in Engine Electrical.
