Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in engine electrical.

  2. Object Number: 160869  Size: SH
  3. Remove the upper fan shroud from the radiator.
  4. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 188927  Size: SH
  6. Remove the drive belt idler pulley from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188927  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the engine assembly.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  3. Install the drive belt to the vehicle. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Install the upper fan shrouds to the radiator. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement in engine cooling.
  5. Connect the battery negative cables to the battery. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement in engine electrical.
