Exhaust Muffler Replacement Gasoline

1. Raise the Vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



2. Remove the clamps from the front and rear of the muffler.
3. Remove the tailpipe.



4. Disconnect the muffler from the exhaust hangers.
5. Remove the muffler from the vehicle.

1. Install the muffler.
2. Connect the exhaust hangers supporting the muffler to the frame.
3. Install the tailpipe.



4. Install the clamps to the front and rear of the muffler. Refer to Clamps .

Exhaust Muffler Replacement Diesel

1. Raise the vehicle and support with safety stands. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



2. Remove the clamps from the front and rear of the muffler.
3. Disconnect the exhaust hangers supporting the exhaust pipe to the frame.
4. Disconnect the exhaust hangers supporting the tail pipe to the frame.
5. Disconnect the exhaust hangers supporting the muffler from the frame.
6. Remove the muffler from the vehicle.

1. Install the muffler.
2. Connect the exhaust hangers supporting the muffler to the frame.
3. Connect the exhaust hangers supporting the tail pipe to the frame.
4. Connect the exhaust hangers supporting the exhaust pipe to the frame.
5. Install the clamps to the front and rear of the muffler. Refer to Clamps .
6. Lower the vehicle.
