Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement PS Pump Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 179249  Size: SH

    Important: Do not evacuate the air conditioning system.

  4. Remove the mounting bolts for the air conditioning compressor, if equipped.
  5. Move the air conditioning compressor aside and support.

  7. Remove the belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .
  8. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.

  9. Object Number: 288829  Size: SH
  10. Remove the bolts and nuts holding the power steering pump to the power steering bracket.

  11. Object Number: 188295  Size: SH
  12. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the power steering bracket to the engine.
  13. Slide the power steering bracket off the stud and power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 188295  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Slide the power steering bracket on the stud and the power steering pump.
  2. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the bolts and nuts for the power steering pump.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nuts to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  6. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement in Power Steering Systems.

  7. Object Number: 179249  Size: SH
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor and bolts, if equipped.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50  N·m (37  lb ft).

  10. Install the drive belt idler pulley if not equipped with A/C. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  11. Object Number: 177620  Size: SH
  12. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  13. Object Number: 108015  Size: SH
  14. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .

Accessory Mounting Brackets Replacement Generator Mounting Bracket

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the PCV tube from the air cleaner outlet duct.
  3. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
  4. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  6. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  7. Remove the engine oil fill tube bolt from the air cleaner outlet duct bracket.
  8. Remove the upper oil level indicator tube bolt.
  9. Remove the engine wiring harness clip nut and harness from the air cleaner outlet duct bracket stud.
  10. Remove the the air cleaner outlet duct bracket bolt and stud from the generator mounting bracket.

  12. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.

  13. Object Number: 43854  Size: SH
  14. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  15. Object Number: 310229  Size: SH
  16. Remove the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  17. Object Number: 196643  Size: SH
  18. Remove the three bolts and nut holding the generator and drive belt tensioner bracket to the engine.
  19. Slide the generator and drive belt tensioner bracket off of the stud.

Installation Procedure

  2. Install the three bolts and the nut.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and nut to 41 N·m (30 lb ft).

  4. Install the drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 43854  Size: SH
  6. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 43033  Size: SH
  8. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  9. Install the air cleaner outlet duct bracket bolt and stud to the generator mounting bracket.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt and stud to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  11. Install the engine wiring harness clip nut and harness to the air cleaner outlet duct bracket stud.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  13. Install the upper oil level indicator tube bolt.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  15. Install the engine oil fill tube bolt to the air cleaner outlet duct bracket.
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  17. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  18. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  19. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls.
  20. Install the PCV tube to the air outlet duct .
  21. Connect the battery negative cable.
  22. Tighten
    Tighten the terminal bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
