Removal Procedure

J 41712 Oil Pressure Switch Socket


    Object Number: 333652  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  2. Hold the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting with a wrench.
  3. Important: Note the alignment of the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting prior to removal.

  4. Remove the engine oil pressure gauge sensor using theJ 41712 .
  5. Remove the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting, if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 333652  Size: SH
  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent to the threads of the engine oil pressure sensor fitting.
  2. Important: Do not loosen the oil pressure sensor fitting after the initial torque has been obtained

  3. Install the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting to 15  N·m (11 lb ft).

    Important: Do not rotate the engine oil pressure sensor fitting more than 359 degrees after initial torque has been obtained.

  5. Rotate the engine oil pressure sensor fitting clockwise to proper position (1), 50 degrees from the centerline (2).
  6. Install the engine oil pressure gauge sensor.
  7. Hold the engine oil pressure gauge sensor fitting with a wrench to prevent from turning.
  8. Use the J 41712 in order to tighten the engine oil pressure sensor.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the engine oil pressure gauge sensor to 30  N·m (22 lb ft).

  10. Install the electrical connector.
