Exhaust Manifold Removal Left

1. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation valve (EGR) inlet pipe bracket bolt.
2. Remove the EGR inlet pipe from the intake manifold.
3. Remove the EGR valve inlet pipe from the left exhaust manifold.



4. Remove the exhaust manifold adapter, if required.




Notice: Twist the spark plug boot one-half turn in order to release the boot. Pull on the spark plug boot only. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or the wire could be damaged.

5. Remove the spark plug wire boots from the spark plugs.



6. Remove the spark plug heat shield nuts.
7. Remove the spark plug heat shield.



8. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts and center bolt.
9. Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket.

Discard the exhaust manifold gasket.

10. Remove the exhaust manifold studs, if required.

Notice: Twist the spark plug boot one-half turn in order to release the boot. Pull on the spark plug boot only. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or the wire could be damaged.

1. Remove the spark plug wire boots from the spark plugs.



2. Remove the spark plug heat shield nuts.
3. Remove the spark plug heat shields.



4. Remove the exhaust manifold nuts and center bolt.
5. Remove the exhaust manifold and gasket. Discard the exhaust manifold gasket.
6. Remove the exhaust manifold studs, if required.
