The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Unrequested transfer case mode shift. Condition is likely intermittent.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Order a transfer case select switch from GMSPO stock, replace the switch and prior to installation record the serial number of the new switch on the repair order. The switch serial number can be found on the switch body in a bar code label.
If the customer returns with a unrequested shift related concern please contact GM technical assistance at the number you have been provided.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
