The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
After a radio replacement, some customers or dealers may report that when using the OnStar Turn By Turn option they are unable to hear the directions. The radio will soft mute then play part of or none of the directions. Also, the radio will not display the turn by turn information. This is due to a software concern within the RADIO or not making the correct selection via TIS2WEB.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Reprogram the radio using SPS with the correct software for the UVA radio option. Refer to the Service Programming System (SPS) procedures in SI. As always make sure your Tech 2® is updated with the latest software version.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
