- Depress the brake pedal 3 times with 30 kg (66 lbs)
of force using the J 28662
.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Rotate each rear tire and wheel assembly in order to inspect the
brake shoe drag on the brake drum.
- If the brake shoe drag on the brake drum is not correct, remove
the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the brake drum. Refer to
Brake Drum Replacement
.
- Insert the J 21177-A
to the braking surface of the drum.
- Position the J 21177-A
over the linings on the brake shoes.
- Turn the adjuster (2)
until the primary and the secondary shoes contact the J 21177-A
.
- Install the brake drum. Refer to
Brake Drum Replacement
.
- Depress the brake pedal 3 times with 30 kg (66 lbs)
of force using the J 28662
.
- Rotate the brake drum in order to inspect the brake shoe drag
on the brake drum. Verify the brake shoe drag on the brake drum is correct.
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
- Lower the vehicle.
