Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (3).
  2. Remove the 4 mounting bolts (1) which secure the windshield wiper motor.
  3. Pull the windshield wiper motor (2) away from the bulkhead.

    Important: Do not service the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2) separately. Do not disconnect the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2) from the windshield wiper motor (3). The crank arm (2) is positioned on the wiper motor (3) in order to allow the windshield wiper arms to return to their normal park position.

  5. Gently pry the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) from the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2).
  6. Remove the windshield wiper motor (3) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the windshield wiper motor linkage (1) to the windshield wiper motor crank arm (2).

  2. Object Number: 473479  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the windshield wiper motor (2) to the bulkhead. Secure the wiper motor with the 4 mounting bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the windshield wiper motor mounting bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Connect the windshield wiper motor electrical connector (3).
