Verify that the left rear power window is inoperative.

Is the left rear power window inoperative?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Is the left rear power window inoperative from the left rear window switch only?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the left rear window switch connector with a test lamp from cavity 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the BLU/WHT wire between the left rear window switch and S310. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Test for battery voltage at terminal 1 of the left rear door switch with the master window switch in the UP position.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 4 of the left rear door switch with the master window switch in the DOWN position.

Is battery voltage present in both tests?

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Test for battery voltage at terminal 5 of the master window switch with the switch in the UP position.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 4 of the master window switch with the switch in the DOWN position.

Is battery voltage present in both tests?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 13

Repair the open in the wire between the master window switch and the left rear door switch where no voltage was present in Step 6. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

    • Test for an open condition through the left rear window switch terminals 4 and 5 with the switch in the NEUTRAL position.
    • Test for an open condition through the left rear window switch terminals 1 and 2 with the switch in the NEUTRAL position.
    • Test for an open condition through the left rear window switch terminals 3 and 5 with the switch in the DOWN position.
    • Test for an open condition through the left rear window switch terminals 2 and 3 with the switch in the UP position.

Is there an open present in any of the above conditions?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

    • Test for an open in the YEL or the GRN/YEL wire between the left rear window switch and the left rear window regulator.
    • Test for an open in the RED or the RED/BLU wire between the left rear window switch and the left rear window regulator.

Is an open present?

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 14

Replace the left rear window switch. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the master window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement or Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the left rear window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
