Verify that the right front power window is inoperative.

Is the right front power window inoperative?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Is the right front power window inoperative from the right front window switch only?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the right front window switch connector with a test lamp from cavity 3 to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the BLU/WHT wire between the right front window switch and S244. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Test for battery voltage at terminal 1 of the right front door switch with the master window switch in the UP position.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 4 of the right front door switch with the master window switch in the DOWN position.

Is battery voltage present in both tests?

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Test for battery voltage at terminal 7 of the master window switch with the switch in the UP position.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 6 of the master window switch with the switch in the DOWN position.

Is battery voltage present in both tests?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 13

Repair the open in the wire between the master window switch and the right front door switch where no voltage was present in Step 6. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

    • Test for an open condition through the right front window switch terminals 4 and 5 with the switch in the NEUTRAL position.
    • Test for an open condition through the right front window switch terminals 1 and 2 with the switch in the NEUTRAL position.
    • Test for an open condition through the right front window switch terminals 3 and 5 with the switch in the DOWN position.
    • Test for an open condition through the right front window switch terminals 2 and 3 with the switch in the UP position.

Is there an open present in any of the above conditions?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

    • Test for an open in the YEL or the GRN/YEL wire between the right front window switch and the right front window regulator.
    • Test for an open in the RED or the RED/BLU wire between the right front window switch and the right front window regulator.

Is an open present?

Go to Step 12

Go to Step 14

Replace the right front window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Replace the master window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement or Door Lock and Side Window Switch Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the right front window regulator. Refer to Front Side Door Window Regulator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 15

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
