Verify that the cruise control system is operational and that the cruise control system operation does not cancel when the clutch pedal is depressed.

Does depressing the clutch pedal cancel the cruise control system operation?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Disconnect the cruise control servo connector.
  3. Test for continuity between cavity 9 of the cruise control servo connector and ground.
  4. Depress and release the clutch pedal.

Is there continuity when the clutch pedal is depressed and no continuity when the clutch pedal is released?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Inspect the cruise control release switch adjustment. Refer to Cruise Control Release Switch Replacement .

Is the cruise control release switch in adjustment?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Adjust the cruise control release switch. Refer to Cruise Control Release Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the adjustment?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open condition in the cruise control release switch circuit between the cruise control servo connector and ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems or Cruise Control Release Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the repair or replacement?

Replace the cruise control servo. Refer to Cruise Control Servo Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
