Did you review the Cruise Control System Description operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the cruise control overdrive cutoff is inoperative.

Does the cruise control system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Perform the Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check.
  2. Observe the DTC display using the scan tool.

Is DTC P0121, P0122, or P0123 stored in memory?

Go to Step 4

Refer to the following DTCs in Engine Controls:

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
  2. Disconnect the cruise control servo connector. Refer to Cruise Control Servo Replacement for access.
  3. Disconnect the power train control module (PCM) connector C1. Refer to PCM Replacement in Engine Controls for access.
  4. Test for an open or short to ground condition between cavity 7 of the cruise control servo connector and cavity 4 of connector C1 of the PCM.

Did you find an open or short to ground condition in the GRY wire?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

With the cruise control servo connector and the PCM connector C1 still disconnected:

Test for an open or short to ground condition between cavity 3 of the cruise control servo connector and cavity 35 of connector C1 of the PCM.

Did you find an open or short to ground condition in the PNK/BLU wire?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Repair the open or short to ground condition in the GRY wire between cavity 7 of the cruise control servo connector and cavity 4 of connector C1 of the PCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open or short to ground condition in the PNK/BLU wire between cavity 3 of the cruise control servo connector and cavity 35 of connector C1 of the PCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the cruise control servo. Refer to Cruise Control Servo Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
