GM Service Manual Online
For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Adjust the horn current until the current is between 4.5 -5.5 Amps at 12  Volts.
  2. Adjustments should be made in one quarter turn (90 degree) increments.
  3. Loosen the adjusting screw locknut.
  4. Turn the adjusting screw counterclockwise in order to increase the current.
  5. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise in order to decrease the current.
  6. Important: Do NOT make the adjustment unless the horn fails to sound in cold weather. A current increase on a properly functioning horn could result in damage to the horn.

  7. The current limit may be set too low if the horn fails to sound in cold weather. The current limit may still be within the amperage limit (4.5 -5.5 Amps at 12 Volts).
  8. Turn the adjusting screw clockwise in order to increase the current draw until the horn sounds.
