Power Door Locks Key Lock Switch Inoperative - One Left

Did you review the Keyless Entry System Description , Keyless Entry System Operation and Keyless Entry System Circuit Description and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Doors

Verify that the lock feature is inoperative from the left front lock cylinder.

Are the power door locks inoperative from the left front lock cylinder only?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Disconnect the door lock actuator connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between terminal 2 and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in the RED/WHT wire between the lock cylinder actuator and S501. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open between the switch terminals 2 and  3 with the lock cylinder in the LOCK position.

Is there an open condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the PNK wire between the lock cylinder actuator and S500. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Replace the lock cylinder actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

  1. Disconnect the door lock actuator connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between terminal 2 and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open open in the PNK wire between the lock cylinder actuator and S226. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open condition between the switch terminals 2 and  3 with the lock cylinder in the LOCK position.

Did you find an open condition present?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the RED/WHT wire between the lock cylinder actuator and S227. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Replace the lock cylinder actuator. Refer to Front Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement .

Are the power door locks inoperative from the rear lock cylinder only?

  1. Disconnect the door lock actuator connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp between terminal 2 and ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the RED/WHT wire between the lock cylinder switch and S227. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open condition between the switch terminals 1 and  2 with the lock cylinder in the LOCK position.

Did you test an open condition?

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in the PNK wire between the lock cylinder switch and S226. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the lock cylinder switch. Refer to Rear Door Lock Replacement .
