Did you review the audible warnings circuit operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. With the LF door open, insert the ignition key into the ignition switch.
  2. Observe the chime and dome lamp operations.
  3. Close the LF door.
  4. Turn ON the ignition, with the ambient light sensor covered, observe the lighting system operation.
  5. Turn OFF the ignition and remove the key from the ignition switch.

Did the dome lamp, lighting system and chime operate normally?

Actuate the dome lamp.

Did the dome lamp operate normally?

Test the lighting system.

Did the lighting system operate normally?

Test the door open signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the ignition key signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

With the key in, test the ignition key signal circuit for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the voltage measure near the specified value?

10-12V

Replace the multifunction alarm. Refer to Multifunction Alarm Module Replacement .
