Did you review the Radio/Audio System Operation and perform the necessary inspections?

Verify that the radio has no sound and no display.

Does the radio operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the radio connector. Refer to Radio Replacement for access.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, with the engine OFF.
  3. Connect a test light between cavity B2 and a good ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Test for an open condition between cavity A12 of the radio connector and ground.

Is there continuity in the BLK wire?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

Connect a test light between cavity B1 and a good ground.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in the WHT wire of the radio memory/power supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the WHT/BLK wire of the radio supply voltage circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open condition in the BLK wire of the radio ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
