Did you review the interior lights circuit description and perform the necessary inspections?

Go to Step 2

With the key out of the ignition switch, observe the dome lamp in the ON position until it turns off or for 20 minutes, which ever comes first.

Did the dome lamp turn off after approx. 15 minutes?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

Is the key-in chime inoperative?

Go to Key-in-Ignition Chime Inoperative in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the DRL control module connector.
  2. Test the battery positive voltage circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Test the key-in signal circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 6

Test the ground circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Replace the DRL control module. Refer to Daytime Running Lights (DRL) Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
