Verify that the flash to pass headlamps are inoperative?

Do the flash to pass headlamps operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

  1. Using a J 36169-A fused jumper wire, test for an open condition from cavity 20 of the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch and S234.
  2. Pull the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch to the PASS position.

Do the high beams operate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the RED wire between cavity 20 and S234. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Test for an open condition between cavity 24 of the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch and G200.

Does a short to ground condition exist?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the open condition in the BLK wire from cavity 24 and G200. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 9

Test for an open between cavity 20 and 24 of the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch.

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Replace the Turn Signal/Headlamp Switch.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
