Verify that the Instrument Panel Lamps do not Dim.

Does the Instrument Panel Dimmer operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Disconnect the IP Lamp Control. Test for an open condition between cavity 2 and S253.

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in the RED/YEL wire from cavity 2 to S253. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Test for an open condition between cavity 3 of the IP Lamp Dimmer Control and S254.

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Step 6

Repair the open condition between cavity 3 and S254. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 10

Test for a short to ground condition between cavity 4 and S248.

Does a short to ground condition exist?

Repair the short condition in the BLK wire from cavity 4 to S248. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the IP Lamp Dimmer Control Switch.
