Verify that the High Beam Indicator is inoperative.

Does the Indicator operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Using a J 35616-200 backprobe connector C1, cavity 6 of the instrument panel cluster assembly to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 9

Using a J 36169-A fused jumper wire, backprobe connector C1, cavity 4 of the instrument panel cluster assembly to ground.

Does the high beam indicator lamp light?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Test for an open in the IP cluster printed circuit .

Does an open condition exist?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Repair the open RED wire between connector C1, cavity 4 of the instrument panel cluster assembly and S234. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the high beam indicator lamp.

Replace IP cluster printed circuit. Refer to Printed Instrument Cluster Circuit Replacement .

Repair the open WHT/BLU wire between connector C1, cavity 6 of the instrument panel cluster assembly and S235. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
