Operate the blower motor at each speed.

Does the blower motor operate at any speed?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Blower speed switch OFF.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 1 of the blower motor.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 12

  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Blower speed switch OFF.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 5 of the blower motor relay.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in the BLU/WHT wire between the blower motor and the blower motor relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

Test for battery voltage at terminal 4 of the blower motor relay.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in the LT GRN wire between the blower motor relay and the blower fuse (in the junction block) OR in the RED wire between the blower fuse and the HTR fuse (in the fuse block). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

  1. Ignition switch ON.
  2. Blower speed switch OFF.
  3. Test for battery voltage at terminal 1 of the blower motor relay.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in the YEL/GRN wire between the blower motor relay and the DEF fuse (in the junction block). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

Test for an open in the BLK wire between the blower motor relay terminal 3 and G201.

Was an open found?

Go to Step 19

Replace the blower motor relay. Refer to Blower Motor Relay Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

  1. Ignition switch OFF.
  2. Blower speed switch to HIGH.
  3. Test for continuity between terminal 2 of the blower motor and chassis ground.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 13

Replace the blower motor. Refer to Blower Motor and Fan Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

Test for continuity between terminal 2 of the blower motor and terminal 3 of the blower motor resistor.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 16

Repair the open in the PNK wire between the blower motor and S204 (in the harness about 6 inches from the blower motor resistor connector). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

  1. Ignition switch OFF.
  2. Blower speed switch to HIGH.
  3. Disconnect the blower speed switch.
  4. Test for continuity between terminals 1 and 2 of the blower speed switch.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 17

Repair the open or high resistance in the BLK wire between the blower speed switch terminal 1 and G200. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 20

Replace the blower speed switch. Refer to Blower Switch Replacement .
