The condenser fan is crucial for the proper operation of the air conditioning system. The fan ensures a sufficient amount of airflow across the condenser throughout the vehicle's operating range. Inspect the fan during all air conditioning diagnosis procedures. Give particular attention to the fan whenever excessive high-side pressure is encountered.

The condenser fan is designed to operate when any one of the following conditions are met:

    • The A/C system is operating.
    • The engine coolant temperature is 110°C (230°F) or higher.
    • The PCM detects an engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor malfunction.
