Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement 2.0L

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump drive belt from the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 2.0L.

  2. Object Number: 738069  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 3 bolts and the power steering pump (3) from the power steering pump bracket (4).
  4. Move the power steering pump away from the power steering pump bracket.
  5. Remove the bolt and the generator from the power steering pump bracket.
  6. Move the generator away from the power steering pump bracket.
  7. Remove the 3 bolts and the power steering pump bracket from the engine block.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1389058  Size: SH

    Important: Do not tighten the 3 bolts to the final specification yet. The upper bolt (1) and the rear bolt (2) control the plane of the bracket.

  1. Install the power steering pump bracket and the 3 bolts (1,2,3) to the engine block.
  2. Push the bracket toward the rear of the engine.
  3. With rearward pressure on the bracket, tighten the bolt (3) snug.
  4. Tighten the bolt (1) snug.
  5. Tighten the bolt (2) snug.
  6. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  7. Tighten the 3 bolts (1,2,3).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18.5 lb ft).

  9. Install the generator and the bolt to the power steering pump bracket.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 23 N·m (17 lb ft).

  11. Install the power steering pump and the 3 bolts to the power steering pump bracket.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18.5 lb ft).

  13. Install the power steering pump drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 2.0L.
