Pulling on the park brake lever handle (2) moves the lever upward. The lever rotates on the fulcrum. The lower portion of the lever swivels forward.

The park brake lever (2) moves the park brake switch (1) to the closed position. The closed park brake switch illuminates the BRAKE indicator. The park brake lever moves the equalizer (7) forward. The equalizer moves the park brake cables forward with equal force. The park brake cables move the park brake shoe levers in both brake drum assemblies. The park brake shoe levers move the brake shoes against the brake drums. The friction between the brake shoes and the brake drums inhibit the brake drums, the wheels, and the tires from turning. The friction between the stationary tires and the ground inhibit the vehicle from moving.
