Inspection Procedure
Important: Inspect the brake shoes whenever you inspect for excessive pedal travel.

- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
.
- Remove the rubber plug from the brake back plate.
- Through the hole of the back plate, visually inspect for thickness
of the brake shoe lining (2).
Measurement
The brake shoe lining should be 1.0-10.0 mm (0.04-0.39 in).
- If the lining thickness is less than the specified value, replace
with new brake shoes.
