Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 467928  Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Use a floor jack in order to support the rear axle housing (1).

  3. Object Number: 467943  Size: SH
  4. Remove the front bolt (2) and the washer from the lower control arm (1).

  5. Object Number: 467946  Size: SH
  6. Remove the following components from the rear axle housing (1):
  7. • The nut (3)
    • The washer
    • The bolt
    • The lower control arm (4)

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 467946  Size: SH

    Important: DO NOT tighten the lower control arm nuts and bolts completely. The weight of the vehicle must be on the wheels and tires before tightening the nuts and bolts.

  1. Install the following components to the rear axle housing (1):
  2. • The lower control arm (4)
    • The bolt
    • The washer
    • The nut (3)

  3. Install the following components to the frame:
  4. • The lower control arm (1)
    • The bolt (2)
    • The washer
  5. Remove the floor jack from the rear axle housing.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. With the weight of the vehicle on the tires and wheels, tighten the lower control arm nuts and bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 90 N·m (65.0 lb ft).
