Ignition Coil Replacement 2.0L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 464731  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (1).
  2. Remove the bolt for each coil.
  3. Remove the ignition coil.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 464731  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the ignition coil. Secure with the bolt.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the ignition coil connectors (1).

Ignition Coil Replacement 1.6L

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 243238  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
  2. Carefully release the number 1 spark plug wire from the clip on the number 2-3 ignition coil.
  3. Remove the number 1 spark plug wire from the number 1-4 ignition coil.
  4. Remove the number 3 spark plug wire from the number 2-3 ignition coil.
  5. Remove the 2 bolts from each ignition coil.
  6. Remove the ignition coils.

  1. Install the ignition coils.

  3. Install the 2 bolts to each ignition coil.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the number 1 spark plug wire to the number 1-4 ignition coil.
  6. Install the number 3 spark plug wire to the number 2-3 ignition coil.
  7. Carefully secure the number 1 spark plug wire in the clip on the number 2-3 ignition coil.
  8. Connect the ignition coil electrical connectors.
