Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 241645  Size: SH
  1. Remove the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Unclip and remove the left front side door sill trim plate (1).

  3. Object Number: 328462  Size: SH
  4. Remove the following components from the vehicle:
  5. • The 2 retainers (4)
    • The footrest (5)
  6. Remove the front floor front console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  7. Remove the plastic retainer (3) which secures the floor panel carpet to the bulkhead.

  8. Object Number: 328459  Size: SH
  9. Remove the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the floor panel carpet to the left I/P center support brace (1).
  10. Remove the left front seat assembly. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  11. Position the floor panel carpet back in order to the access the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing.
  12. Remove the left rear floor air outlet duct from the vehicle.
  13. Remove the following components from the floor panel:
  14. • The mounting bolt
    • The fuel/rear compartment release handle housing
  15. Remove the following components from the housing:
  16. • The fuel filler door lock release cable
    • The rear compartment lid lock release cable
  17. Remove the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 328459  Size: SH
  1. Install the following components to the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing:
  2. • The fuel filler door lock release cable
    • The rear compartment lid lock release cable

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing to the floor panel. Secure the housing with the mounting bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel/rear compartment release handle housing mounting bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the left rear floor air outlet duct to the vehicle.
  6. Reposition the floor panel carpet back to its original position.
  7. Install the left front seat assembly. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  8. Install the 2 plastic retainers (2) which secure the floor panel carpet to the left I/P center support brace (1).

  9. Object Number: 328462  Size: SH
  10. Install the plastic retainer (3) which secures the floor panel carpet to the bulkhead.
  11. Install the front floor front console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .
  12. Install the footrest (5) to the vehicle. Secure the footrest with the 2 plastic retainers (4).

  13. Object Number: 241645  Size: SH
  14. Install the left front side door sill trim plate (1).
  15. Install the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
