Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 245084 Size: SH
  1. Remove the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the 2 bolts (3) which secure the IP drivers knee bolster trim.
  3. Remove the drivers knee bolster trim (1) from the instrument panel assembly.

  4. Disconnect the hood latch release cable (1) from the hood latch release handle.

    5. Object Number: 432027 Size: SH
  5. Remove the OBD II data link connector (1) from the drivers knee bolster trim (2).
  6. Remove the knee bolster trim (2) from the vehicle.
  7. Gently pry the hood latch release handle from the knee bolster trim, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 432027 Size: SH
  1. Install the hood latch release handle to the IP drivers knee bolster trim, if removed.
  2. Install the OBD II data link connector (1) to the knee bolster trim (2).

    3. Object Number: 432029 Size: SH
  3. Connect the hood latch release cable (1) to the hood latch release handle.

    4. Object Number: 245084 Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install knee bolster trim (1) to the instrument panel assembly. Secure the trim with the 2 bolts (3).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the knee bolster trim bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the left body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Hinge Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
