Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 621681  Size: SH
  1. Remove the 2 fasteners.
  2. Remove the 2 plastic retainers.
  3. Remove the engine cover (1) from the engine.

  4. Object Number: 621679  Size: SH
  5. Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the ignition coils (3).
  6. Remove the fasteners (4) from the ignition coils.
  7. Remove the fasteners (2) from the electrical harness (1).
  8. Remove the electrical harness package (1).
  9. Remove the ignition coils (3) from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the ignition coils (3) to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Secure the ignition coils with the fasteners (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the electrical harness (2) and secure with the 2 fasteners (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 8.8 N·m (78 lb in).

  7. Connect the electrical connectors to the ignition coils (3).

  9. Install the engine cover (1).
  10. Secure the engine cover (1) with the 2 fasteners.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the 2 fasteners to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Install the 2 plastic retainers.
