The fluid level is low.

1. Inspect for a fluid leak.

2. Add fluid as needed.

The pressure plates are scored.

Replace the components as needed.

Refer to or Power Steering Pump Replacement.

The vanes are scored.

Replace the components as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.

The pump bushing is scored.

Replace the pump brush as needed.

Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement.
