Condition

Causes

DEFINITION: Difficulty when refueling the vehicle.

Difficult to fill

Inspect for the following conditions:

    â€¢ Restricted vent lines
    â€¢ The evaporative emission (EVAP) vent valve is stuck closed
    â€¢ High fuel temperature
    â€¢ A condition with the internal components of the fuel tank assembly.

Over fill

A condition with the internal components of the fuel tank assembly.

Refer to Evaporative Emission Control System Description .

Pre-mature shut-off of the fuel dispensing nozzle

Inspect for the following conditions:

    â€¢ The EVAP vent valve is stuck closed
    â€¢ Restricted vent lines
    â€¢ High reid vapor pressure or high fuel temperature
    â€¢ A condition with the internal components of the fuel tank assembly

Fuel Spitback

Inspect the fuel system for the following conditions:

    â€¢ High reid vapor pressure or high fuel temperature
    â€¢ A condition with the internal components of the fuel tank assembly.

Fuel Odor

Inspect for the following conditions:

    â€¢ Saturated EVAP canister--Refer to Evaporative Emission Control System Description .
    â€¢ A condition with the internal components of the fuel tank assembly--Refer to Fuel System Description .
