Press and hold the HR or MIN arrow for 2 seconds. Then press the HR arrow until the correct hour appears. Press and hold the MIN arrow until the correct minute appears.
Press and hold the HR and MIN buttons for two seconds. Then press and hold the HR button until the correct hour appears. AM or PM will appear on the display. Press and hold the MN button until the correct minute appears. The clock may be set with the ignition OFF. The clock symbol will appear on the display in time-set mode.
In order to set the clock to the time of a station broadcasting Radio Data Systems (RDS) information, press and hold the HR and MN buttons at the same time for 2 seconds until UPDATED and the clock symbol appear on the display. If the time is not available from the station, NO UPDAT will appear on the display instead.
PWR-VOL: Press this knob to turn the system ON and OFF. Turn the knob clockwise in order to increase the volume. Turn the knob counterclockwise in order to decrease the volume.
RCL: Press this knob in order to recall the station being played or in order to display the clock.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to switch between AM, FM1 and FM2. The display will show your selection.
TUNE: Turn this knob in order to choose the radio stations.
SEEK: Press the right arrow in order to tune to the next higher station and stay there. Press the left arrow in order to tune to the next lower station and stay there.
SCAN: Press and hold one of the SEEK arrows for 2 seconds until you hear a beep. Use SCAN in order to listen to stations for a few seconds. The radio will go to a station, stop for a few seconds, then go to the next station. Press one of the SEEK arrows again in order to stop the scanning.
PRESET SCAN: Press and hold one of the SEEK arrows for more than 4 seconds until you hear a double beep. Use PRESET SCAN in order to listen to each of your preset stations for a few seconds. The radio will go to the first preset station stored on your push-button, stop for a few seconds, then go to the next preset station. Press one of the SEEK arrows again in order to stop scanning presets. The channel number (P1-P6) will appear momentarily just before the frequency displays.
Push-buttons: The 6 numbered push-buttons let you return to your favorite station. You can set up to 18 stations (6 AM, 6 FM1 and 6 FM2), using the following procedure:

The cassette tape player works best with cassette tapes that are 30-45 minutes on each side. Cassette tapes longer than 30-45 minutes are so thin they may not work well in this player. The longer side with the cassette tape visible should face to the right. If the ignition is ON, but the radio is OFF, you may insert a cassette tape which will begin playing. If you hear nothing but a garbled sound, the cassette tape may not be in squarely. Press the eject button in order to remove the cassette tape and start over.
While the cassette tape is playing, use the VOL, FAD, BAL, TRE, BAS, SEEK, and SCAN controls just as you do for the radio. Up will appear on the display if the top side of the cassette tape is being playing. DN will appear if the bottom side is playing.
If the cassette tape player detects a tight or broken cassette tape, ERR (error) will appear on the display and the player will eject the cassette tape. The radio will go back to playing the last station selected.
If you want to insert a cassette tape when the ignition is OFF, first press the eject button or the RCL knob.
PREV (1): Press this button or the left SEEK arrow in order to go to the previous selection on the cassette tape if the selection has been playing for less than 3 seconds. If you press the PREV button or the left SEEK arrow while the current selection has been playing for more than 13 seconds, the current selection replays. If you press the PREV button or the left SEEK arrow while the current selection has been playing from 3-13 seconds, play will resume at either the previous selection or the start of the current selection , depending on the position of the cassette tape. FR will flash on the display while the cassette player is in PREV mode. The cassette tape must have at least three seconds of silence between each selection for PREV to work. The sound will mute while seeking.
NEXT (2): Press this button or the right SEEK arrow in order to go to the next selection on the cassette tape. FF will flash on the display while the cassette player is in NEXT mode. The cassette tape must have at least 3 seconds of silence between each selection for NEXT to work. The sound will mute while seeking.
REV (3): Press this button in order to reverse the cassette tape rapidly. FR will appear on the display. Press the button again in order to return to playing speed. The radio will play the last selected station while the cassette tape reverses. You may select stations during REV operation by using TUNE, SEEK or SCAN.
FWD (4): Press this button in order to advance quickly to another part of the cassette tape. FF will appear on the display. Press the button again in order to return to playing speed. The radio will play the last selected station while the advances. You may select stations during FWD operation by using TUNE, SEEK or SCAN.
SIDE (5): Press this button in order to play the other side of the cassette tape.
RPT (6): Press this button once in order to repeat the current selection. RPT will appear on the display. RPT will flash on the display while the cassette player is searching for the start of the selection. The cassette tape must have at least three seconds of silence between each selection for RPT to work. Press this button again in order to turn off repeated play. OFF will appear on the display.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to play the radio when a cassette tape is in the player. The cassette tape will stop but remain in the player.
TAPE: With a cassette tape in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play a cassette tape. CAS will appear on the display. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio when a cassette tape is playing. The inactive cassette tape will remain safely inside the radio for future listening.
EJECT: Press the upward triangle button in order to remove a cassette tape. The radio will play. You may eject a tape with the radio turned OFF. You may also load cassette tapes with the radio OFF if you first press this button.
CLN: If this message appears on the display, the cassette tape player will still play cassette tapes, but you should clean the player as soon as possible in order to prevent damage to the cassette tapes and player. After you clean the player, press and hold the eject button for five seconds in order to reset the CLN indicator. The radio display will flash --- in order to show that the indicator was reset.

Insert a CD partway into the slot, label side up. The player will pull the CD in. The CD should begin playing. The display will show CD. If you want to insert a compact CD with the ignition OFF, first press RCL or the eject button.
If you're driving on a very rough road or if the temperature is very high, the CD may not play and ERR (error ) may appear on the display. When the abnormal condition is resolved, the CD should play. If the CD comes out, test for the following conditions:
• | The CD is upside down. |
• | The CD is dirty, scratched or wet. |
• | The humidity is high. (If so, wait about an hour and try again). |
PREV (1): Press this button or the left SEEK arrow to go to the previous track if the current selection has been playing for less than eight seconds. If you press the PREV button or the left SEEK arrow while the current selection has been playing for more than 8 seconds, the current selection will replay. The track number will appear on the display. If you hold the button or press the button more than once, the player will continue moving back through the CD. The sound will mute while seeking.
NEXT (2): Press this button or the right SEEK arrow in order to go to the next track. The track number will appear on the display. If you hold the button or press the button more than once, the player will continue moving forward through the CD. The sound will mute while seeking.
REV (3): Press this button in order to reverse the cassette tape rapidly. FR will appear on the display. Press the button again in order to return to playing speed. The radio will play the last selected station while the cassette tape reverses. You may select stations during REV operation by using TUNE, SEEK or SCAN.
FWD (4): Press and hold this button in order to advance quickly within a track. Release the button in order to play the passage. The display will show the elapsed time.
RDM (5): Press this button in order to hear the tracks in random, rather than sequential, order. RDM will show on the display. Press RDM again in order to turn off random play. OFF will appear on the display.
RPT (6): Press this button once in order to repeat the current selection. RPT will appear on the display. Press this button again in order to turn off repeated play. OFF will appear on the display.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to play the radio when a CD is in the player. The CD will stop but remain in the player.
CD: With a CD in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play a CD. CD will appear on the display. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio when a CD is playing. The inactive CD will remain safely inside the radio for future listening. CD will appear on the display when a CD is loaded.
EJECT: Press the upward triangle button in order to remove a CD. The radio will play. You may eject the CD with the radio turned OFF. You may also load the CD with the radio off if you first press this button.
PWR: Press this button in order to turn the system ON or OFF.
VOL: Turn this knob clockwise in order to increase the volume. Turn the knob counterclockwise in order to decrease the volume
DISP: Press this button in order to display the clock with the ignition OFF.
AUTO VOL: This system has a feature called Speed-Compensated Volume (SCV). With SCV, the audio system adjust automatically in order to make up for road and wind noise as you drive. Set the volume at the desired level. Press AUTO VOL in order to adjust the SCV. AVOL will appear on the display. Each time you press AUTO VOL, another volume setting (LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH) will appear on the display. NONE will appear on the display if the radio cannot find out the vehicle speed. Then, as you drive, SCV automatically increases the volume, as necessary, in order to overcome noise at any particular speed. The volume level should always sound the same to you as you drive. If you don't want to use the SCV, select OFF. Each volume setting allows for more volume compensation at faster vehicle speeds.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to switch between AM, FM1 and FM2. The display will show your selection.

P.SCAN: Press and hold one of the arrows for more than 4 seconds. Use P.SCAN in order to listen to each of your favorite stations stored on your push-button for a few seconds. The radio will scan through each of the stations stored on your push-button, except those stations with weak reception. The AUTO TONE setting stored for that push-button will be automatically chosen. Press P.SCAN or one of the push-button again in order to stop scanning. P.SCAN will be displayed whenever the tuner is in the P.SCAN mode. The channel number (P1-P6) will appear momentarily just before the frequency is displayed. In FM mode, this function will scan through both FM1 and FM2 preset Stations and FM1 or FM2 will appear on the display.
BASS: Press and release AUDIO knob until BASS appears on the display. Then turn the knob clockwise in order to increase bass and counterclockwise in order to decrease bass. The display will show the bass level. When you use this control, the radio's AUTO TONE setting will switch to manual and the AUTO TONE display will go blank.
TREB: Press and release AUDIO knob until TREB appears on the display. Then turn the knob clockwise in order to increase treble and counterclockwise in order to decrease treble. If a station is weak or noisy, you may want to decrease the treble. The display will show the treble level. When you use this control, the radio's AUTO TONE setting will switch to manual and the AUTO TONE display will go blank. If a station is weak or noisy, you may want to decrease the treble.
AUTO TONE: This feature allows you to choose preset bass and treble equalization settings designed for rock, country, jazz, pop, news and classical stations TONE and the preset equalization setting will appear on the display when you press AUTO TONE. Each time you press this button, another setting will appear on the display. The manual setting allows tone control to return to the BASS and TREB controls. Use the push-buttons and the AUTO TONE button in order to program AUTO TONE for station preset.
BAL: Press and release AUDIO knob until BAL appears on the display. Turn the knob clockwise in order to move the sound to the right speaker and counterclockwise in order to move the sound to the left speaker. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers. The display will show the speaker balance.
FADE: Press and release AUDIO knob until FADE appears on the display. Turn the knob clockwise in order to move the sound to the front speakers and counterclockwise in order to move the sound to the rear speakers. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers. The display will show the speaker balance.
This audio system is equipped with a Radio Data System (RDS). RDS mode gives you many useful new features. With RDS, the radio can perform the following functions:
• | Seek only the stations with the types of programs you want to hear. |
• | Seek those stations with traffic announcements. |
• | Receive announcements concerning local and national emergencies. |
• | Receive and display messages from radio stations. |
RDS features are only available for use on FM stations which broadcast RDS information. The RDS features of this radio rely upon receiving specific RDS information from these stations. These features will only work when the RDS information is available. In rare cases, a radio station may broadcast incorrect information that will cause the radio features to work improperly. If this happens, please contact the radio station.
When you are tuned to an RDS station, the station name will appear on the display, instead of the frequency. Most RDS stations provide their station name, the time of the day and Program Type (PTY) for their current programming.
VOL: Turn this knob clockwise in order to increase the volume when RDS interrupts regular play. Turn the knob counterclockwise in order to decrease the volume.
DISP: Press this knob in order to recall the RDS station being played.
TRAF: Press this button in order to receive traffic announcements. If the current tuned station does not broadcast traffic announcements, the radio will seek a station that does. The TRAF icon will flash on the display. When the radio finds a station that broadcasts traffic announcements, the seek will stop.
When a traffic announcement comes on the tuned radio station, you will hear the announcement, even if the volume is muted or a cassette tape or CD is playing. The TRAF icon and TRAFFIC will appear on the display while the traffic announcement plays. Any cassette tape or remote CD changer was being used will stay in the player and resume play when the announcement is finished.
INFO: If the current station has a message, the INFO icon will appear on the display. Press this button in order to see the message. If the whole message does not appear on the display, each time you press this button, the next part of the message will appear on the display until the message is completed. Press this button again in order to see the message again. Once the completed message has been displayed, the INFO icon will disappear from the display until another new message is received.
TYPE: Turn this knob clockwise or counterclockwise in order to select a Program Type (PTY). TYPE and a PTY will appear on the display. Refer to "Radio Data Systems (RDS) Program Type (PTY)"
SEEK TYPE: Press this button in order to go to a station with the last selected PTY. TYPE and the last selection PTY will appear on the display. If a station with the selected PTY is not found, the radio will return to the original station. If both SEEK TYPE and TYPE are displayed, the radio will search for stations with traffic announcements and the selected PTY.
Push-buttons: The 6 numbered push-buttons let you return to your favorite Program Types (PTY). These buttons have factory PTY presets. You can set a maximum of 12 PTY's (6 FM1 and 6 FM2), using the following procedure:
ALERT!: This type of announcement warns of national or local emergencies. You will not be able to turn off alert announcements. ALERT! appears on the display when an alert announcement plays. When an alert announcement comes on the tuned radio station, you will hear the announcement, even if the volume is muted or a cassette tape or CD is playing. If the cassette tape or CD is playing, play will stop for the announcement, then resume when the announcement is finished.
The cassette tape player is built in order to work best with cassette tapes that are a maximum of 30-45 minutes on each side. Cassette tapes longer than 30-45 minutes are so thin they may not work well in this player. The longer side with the cassette tape visible should face to the right. If you press the button more than once, the player will continue moving back through the cassette tape. SEEK and a negative number will appear on the display. The cassette tape must have at least three seconds of silence between each selection for PREV to work. The sound will mute while seeking.
NEXT (2): Press this button in order to advance to the next selection on the cassette tape. If you press the button more than once, the player will continue moving forward through the cassette tape. SEEK and a positive number will appear on the display. The cassette tape must have at least three seconds of silence between each selection for NEXT to work. The sound will mute while seeking.

DOLBY (6): Press this button in order to reduce the background noise. DOLBY ON will appear on the display. Press the button again in order to turn Dolby off. DOLBY OFF will appear on the display.

The cassette tape must have at least three seconds of silence between each selection for SCAN to work. The sound will mute while scanning.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to play the radio when a cassette tape is in the player. The cassette tape will stop but remain in the player.
TAPE: With a cassette tape in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play a cassette tape. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio when a cassette tape is playing. The inactive cassette tape will remain safely inside the radio for future listening.
TAPE-CD: With a CD in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play a CD. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio when a CD is playing. Press TAPE-CD in order to switch between the cassette tape and CD if both are loaded. The inactive cassette tape or CD will remain safely inside the radio foe future listening.
EJECT: Press this button in order to remove a cassette tape. The radio will play. You may eject cassette tapes with the radio turned off. You may also load cassette tapes with the radio off if you press the EJT button first.
CLN: If this message appears on the display, the cassette tape player will still play cassette tapes, but you should clean the player as soon as possible in order to prevent damage to the cassette tapes and player. After you clean the player, press and hold the eject button for 5 seconds in order to reset the CLN indicator. The radio display will flash 3 dashes (---) in order to show the indicator was reset.
You may use a CD adapter kit with your cassette tape player after activating the bypass feature on your cassette tape player.
In order to activate the bypass feature, use the following steps:
This override routine will remain active until EJT is pressed.
Insert a CD partway into the slot, label side up. The player will pull the CD in. The CD should begin playing. The display will show CD symbol. If you want to insert a compact CD with the ignition OFF, first press DISP or EJT.
If you're driving on a very rough road or if the temperature is very high, the CD may not play and ERR (error ) may appear on the display. When the abnormal condition is resolved, the CD should play. If the CD comes out, test the following conditions:
• | The CD is upside down. |
• | The CD is dirty, scratched or wet. |
• | The humidity is high. (If so, wait about an hour and try again). |
PREV (1): Press this button in order to go to the previous track if the current selection has been playing for less than 8 seconds. EJECT: Press the upward triangle button in order to remove a CD. The radio will play. You may eject a CD with the radio turned OFF. You may also load a CD with the radio off if you press this button first.
PWR: Press this button in order to turn the system ON and OFF.
VOL: Press this knob clockwise in order to increase the volume. Turn the knob counterclockwise in order to decrease the volume.
DISP: Press this button in order to display the clock with the ignition OFF.
AUTO VOL: This system has a feature called Speed-Compensated Volume (SCV). With SCV, the audio system adjust automatically in order to make up for road and wind noise as you drive. Set the volume at the desired level. Press AUTO VOL in order to adjust the SCV. AVOL will appear on the display. Each time you press AUTO VOL, another volume setting (LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH) will appear on the display. NONE will appear on the display if the radio cannot find out the vehicle speed. Then, as you drive, SCV automatically increases the volume, as necessary, in order to overcome noise at any particular speed. The volume level should always sound the same to you as you drive. If you don't want to use the SCV, select OFF. Each volume setting allows for more volume compensation at faster vehicle speeds.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to switch between AM, FM1 and FM2. The display will show your selection.
TUNE: Turn this knob in order to choose the radio station.
SEEK: Press the right arrow in order to tune to the next higher station and the left arrow in order to tune to the next lower station and stay there.
SCAN: Press and hold one of the SEEK arrows for two seconds until SCAN appears on the display. Use SCAN in order to listen to stations for a few seconds. The radio will go to a station, stop for a few seconds, then go to the next station. Press one of the SEEK arrows again in order to stop the scanning. The sound will mute while scanning.
Push-buttons: The 6 numbered push-buttons let you return to your favorite station. You can set a maximum of 18 stations (6 AM, 6 FM1 and 6 FM2), using the following procedure:
P.SCAN: Press and hold one of the arrows for more than four seconds. Use P.SCAN in order to listen to each of your favorite stations stored on your push-button for a few seconds. The radio will scan through each of the stations stored on your push-button, except those stations with weak reception. The AUTO TONE setting stored for that push-button will be automatically chosen. Press P.SCAN or one of the push-button in order to stop scanning. P.SCAN will be displayed whenever the tuner is in the P.SCAN mode. The channel number (P1-P6) will appear momentarily just before the frequency is displayed. In FM mode, this function will scan through both FM1 and FM2 preset Stations and FM1 or FM2 will appear on the display.
BASS: Press and release AUDIO knob until BASS appears on the display. Then turn the knob clockwise in order to increase bass and counterclockwise in order to decrease bass. The display will show the bass level. When you use this control, the radio's AUTO TONE setting will switch to manual and the AUTO TONE display will go blank.
TREB: Press and release AUDIO knob until TREB appears on the display. Then turn the knob clockwise in order to increase treble and counterclockwise in order to decrease treble. If a station is weak or noisy, you may want to decrease the treble. The display will show the treble level. When you use this control, the radio's AUTO TONE setting will switch to manual and the AUTO TONE display will go blank. If a station is weak or noisy, you may want to decrease the treble.
AUTO TONE: This feature allows you to choose preset bass and treble equalization settings designed for rock, country, jazz, pop, news and classical stations TONE and the preset equalization setting will appear on the display when you press AUTO TONE. Each time you press the button, another setting will appear on the display. The manual setting allows tone control to return to the BASS and TREB controls. Use the push-buttons and the AUTO TONE button in order to program AUTO TONE for station preset.
BAL: Press and release AUDIO knob until BAL appears on the display. Turn the knob clockwise in order to move the sound to the right speaker and counterclockwise in order to move the sound to the left speaker. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers. The display will show the speaker balance.
FADE: Press and release AUDIO knob until FADE appears on the display. Turn the knob clockwise in order to move the sound to the front speakers and counterclockwise in order to move the sound to the rear speakers. The middle position balances the sound between the speakers. The display will show the speaker balance.
This audio system is equipped with a Radio Data System (RDS). RDS mode gives you many useful new features. With RDS, the radio can perform the following functions:
• | Seek only the stations with the types of programs you want to hear. |
• | Seek those stations with traffic announcements. |
• | Receive announcements concerning local and national emergencies. |
• | Receive and display messages from radio stations. |
RDS features are only available for use on FM stations which broadcast RDS information. The RDS features of this radio rely upon receiving specific RDS information from these stations. These features will only work when the RDS information is available. In rare cases, a radio station may broadcast incorrect information that will cause the radio features to work improperly. If this happens, please contact the radio station.
When you are tuned to an RDS station, the station name will appear on the display, instead of the frequency. Most RDS stations provide their station name, the time of the day and Program Type (PTY) for their current programming.
VOL: Turn this knob clockwise in order to increase the volume when RDS interrupts regular play. Turn the knob counterclockwise in order to decrease the volume.
DISP: Press this knob in order to recall the RDS station being played.
TRAF: Press this button in order to receive traffic announcements. If the current tuned station does not broadcast traffic announcements, the radio will seek a station that does. The TRAF icon will flash on the display. When the radio finds a station that broadcasts traffic announcements, the seek will stop.
You will hear when a traffic announcement comes on the tuned radio station, even if the volume is muted or a cassette tape or CD is playing. The TRAF icon and TRAFFIC will appear on the display while the traffic announcement plays. The cassette tape or CD will stay in the player and resume play when the announcement is finished.
INFO: If the current station has a message, the INFO icon will appear on the display. Press this button in order to see the message. If the whole message does not appear on the display, each time you press this button, the next part of the message will appear on the display until the message is completed. Press this button again in order to see the message again. Once the completed message has been displayed, the INFO icon will disappear from the display until another new message is received.
TYPE: Turn this knob clockwise or counterclockwise in order to select the Program Type (PTY) you want to hear. TYPE and a PTY will appear on the display. Refer to "Radio Data Systems (RDS) Program Type (PTY)"
SEEK TYPE: Press this button in order to go to a station with the last selected PTY. TYPE and the last selection PTY will appear on the display. If a station with the selected PTY is not found, the radio will return to the original station. If both SEEK TYPE and TYPE are displayed, the radio will search for stations with traffic announcements and the selected PTY.
Push-buttons: The six numbered push-button let you return to your favorite Program Types (PTY). These buttons have factory PTY presets. You can set a maximum of 12 PTY's (6 FM1 and 6 FM2), using the following procedure:
ALERT!: This type of announcement warns of national or local emergencies. You will not be able to turn off alert announcements. ALERT! appears on the display when an alert announcement plays. When an alert announcement comes on the tuned radio station, you will hear the announcement, even if the volume is muted or a cassette tape or CD is playing. If the cassette tape or CD is playing, play will stop for the announcement then resume when the announcement is finished.

The cassette tape player works best with tapes that are 30-45 minutes on each side. Cassette tapes longer than 30-45 minutes are so thin they may not work well in this player. The longer side with the cassette tape visible should face to the right. If the ignition is ON, but the radio is off, you may insert a cassette tape which will begin playing. If you hear nothing but a garbled sound, the cassette tape may not be in squarely. Press the eject button in order to remove the cassette tape and start over.
While the cassette tape is playing, use the VOL, FADE, BAL, TREB, BASS, SEEK, and SCAN controls just as you do for the radio. The display will show TAPE and an arrow showing which side of the cassette tape is playing.
If you want to insert a cassette tape when the ignition is off, first press the EJT or DISP.

NEXT (2): Press this button in order to go to the next track. TRACK and the track number will appear on the display. If you hold the button or press the button more than once, the player will continue moving forward through the CD. The sound will mute while seeking.
REV (3): Press and hold this button in order to reverse quickly within a track. Release the button in order to play the passage. The display will show ET and the elapsed time.
FWD (4): Press and hold this button in order to advance quickly within a track. Release the button in order to play the passage. The display will show ET and the elapsed time.
RDM (5): Press this button in order to hear the tracks in random, rather than sequential, order. RDM ONE will show on the display. RDM T and the track number will appear on the display when each track starts to play. Press RDM again in order to turn off random play. RDM OFF will appear on the display.
DISP: Press this button in order to see how long the current track has been playing. ET and the elapsed time will appear on the display. In order to change what is normally shown on the display (track or elapsed time), press the button until you see the display you want, then hold the button for 2 seconds.
AM-FM: Press this button in order to play the radio when a CD is in the player. The CD will stop but remain in the player.
CD: With a CD in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play a CD. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio when a CD is playing. The inactive CD will remain safely inside the radio for future listening.
TAPE-CD: With a cassette tape in the player and the radio playing, press this button in order to play cassette tape. Press AM-FM in order to return to the radio station when a cassette tape is playing. Press TAPE-CD in order to switch between the cassette tape and CD if both are loaded. The inactive cassette tape or CD will remain safely inside the radio for future listening.
EJECT: Press the upward triangle button in order to remove a CD. The radio will play. You may eject a CD with the radio turned OFF. You may even load a CD with the radio OFF if you first press this button.
THEFTLOCK® discourages theft of the radio. THEFTLOCK® uses a secret code which disables all radio functions whenever the battery power is removed.
You may either use or ignore the THEFTLOCK® feature for the radio. If ignored, the system plays normally and the radio is not protected by the feature. If THEFTLOCK® is activated, the radio will not operate if stolen.
When you activate THEFTLOCK®, the radio displays LOC, which indicates a locked condition, anytime the battery power has been interrupted. If your battery loses power for any reason, you must unlock the radio with the secret code before you may operate the radio.
The instructions which follow explain how to enter the secret code in order to activate the THEFTLOCK® systems. Read through all 9 steps before starting the procedure.
Important: If you allow more than 15 seconds to elapse between any steps, the radio automatically reverts to time and you must start the procedure over at step 4.

If you enter the wrong secret code 8 times, INOP will appear on the display. You will have to wait an hour with the ignition ON before you can try again. You will then have 3 chances to enter the correct secret code before INOP appears.
