Subject: | Service VME -- MIL Intermittent Stall SES Light Illuminated |
Models: | . |
When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
Some customers may comment of intermittent stall and/or that the service engine soon light is illuminated. This may be caused by the nut that retains ground G103 bottoming out before clamping the splice pack securely. This results in a poor and/or intermittent electrical connection. To correct this condition, locate G103 at the rear upper transmission stud. Remove the air cleaner assembly in order to gain access. Remove the ground eyelet retaining nut and remove the ground eyelet from the stud. Install a flat washer, P/N 15650963, on the stud and reinstall the ground eyelet on the stud. Reinstall the ground eyelet retaining nut and tighten securely. Reinstall the air cleaner assembly.
Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
