Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
- Remove the screws from the lower steering column trim cover.
- Remove the upper steering column trim cover from the steering column.
- Remove the screws from the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
- Gently pry out the instrument panel cluster trim plate form the IP carrier with a small flat-bladed tool.
- Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate from the IP carrier.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the IP dimmer switch.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the hazard warning switch.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical connector to the hazard warning switch.
- Connect the electrical connector to the IP dimmer switch.
- Align the cluster trim plate tabs to the retainers.
- Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate to the IP carrier.
- Install the screws to the instrument panel cluster trim plate.
- Install the upper steering column trim cover to the steering column.
- Install the screws to the lower steering column trim cover.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (18 lb in).
