Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Control Cable Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 385262  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the brake pedal pushrod (1) from the brake pedal (2).

  5. Object Number: 385279  Size: SH
  6. Remove the brake switch (1) from the brake pedal.
  7. Disconnect the electrical harness from the pedal assembly.

  8. Object Number: 385267  Size: SH
  9. Remove the upper (1) and the lower (2) mounting nuts from the pedal assembly.
  10. Remove the pedal assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 385267  Size: SH
  1. Install the pedal assembly.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the upper (1) and the lower (2) mounting nuts to the pedal assembly.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the mounting nuts to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  5. Connect the brake pedal pushrod (1) to the brake pedal (2).
  6. Connect the electrical harness to the pedal assembly.
  7. Install the brake switch (1) to the brake pedal. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  8. Connect the accelerator cable to the accelerator pedal. Refer to Accelerator Control Cable Replacement .
  9. Install the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
