Makes 馃 Chevrolet 馃 2006 馃 Kodiak C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 馃 Transmission/Transaxle 馃 Manual Transmission - ZF S6-650 馃 Clutch Cable Return Spring and/or Bracket Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle, if required. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the clutch cable return spring.

    3. Object Number: 821179 Size: SH
  3. Squeeze clutch cable retainers and disengage the clutch cable from the clutch cable bracket.

    4. Object Number: 857763 Size: SH
  4. If equipped with RPO ML6, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission.

    5. Object Number: 857768 Size: SH
  5. If equipped with RPO MUT, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission.

    6. Object Number: 857771 Size: SH
  6. If equipped with RPO MS9/MT3, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission.

    7. Object Number: 857774 Size: SH
  7. If equipped with RPO MM7/MSG/MPU/MSC, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission and the exhaust hanger rod.

    8. Object Number: 857781 Size: SH
  8. If equipped with RPO MK8/MK9, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission.

    9. Object Number: 857784 Size: SH
  9. If equipped with RPO MKO/MLO/MM7/MM8/M69, remove the clutch cable bracket fasteners and the clutch cable bracket from the transmission and the exhaust hanger rod.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 857763 Size: SH
  1. If equipped with RPO ML6, install the clutch cable bracket to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 46 N路m (34 lb ft).

  2. If equipped with RPO MUT, install the clutch cable bracket to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 40 N路m (30 lb ft).

  3. If equipped with RPO MS9/MT3, install the clutch cable bracket to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 40 N路m (30 lb ft).

  4. If equipped with RPO MM7/MSG/MPU/MSC, lubricate the exhaust hanger bushing and install the clutch cable bracket on the exhaust hanger rod and to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 85 N路m (63 lb ft).

  5. If equipped with RPO MK8/MK9, install the clutch cable bracket to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 36 N路m (27 lb ft).

  6. If equipped with RPO MKO/MLO/MM7/MM8/M69, install the clutch cable bracket to the transmission with the clutch cable bracket fasteners.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch cable bracket fasteners to 85 N路m (63 lb ft).

  7. Install the clutch return spring.
  8. Lower the vehicle, if required
