2. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FILLER TUBE DIPSTICK.
3. USING A 12 OR 15 INCH RULER, DETERMINE LENGTH OF FILLER TUBE FROM TOP OF FILL END TO TOP OF ATTACHING BRACKET (DIMENSION X IN ILLUSTRATION). PLACE RULER AGAINST REAR INNER SIDE OF TUBE AND SLIDE DOWN UNTIL CONTACT IS MADE WITH ATTACHING BRACKET.
4. IF MEASUREMENT IS APPROXIMATELY 11 INCHES, TUBE IS CORRECT. REINSTALL DIPSTICK AND CLOSE HOOD. NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED.
5. IF MEASUREMENT IS APPROXIMATELY 12.5 INCHES, TUBE IS INCORRECT AND MUST BE REPLACED AS OUTLINED BELOW:
A. RAISE VEHICLE B. REMOVE TRANSMISSION FILLER TUBE BRACKET TO BELLHOUSING ATTACHING BOLT. C. REMOVE FILLER TUBE FROM TRANSMISSION. LEAVE EXISTING FILLER TUBE GASKET IN TRANSMISSION HOUSING. D. COAT END OF NEW P/N 14024971 FILLER TUBE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID AND INSTALL IN TRANSMISSION. E. REINSTALL TRANSMISSION FILLER TUBE BRACKET TO BELLHOUSING ATTACHING BOLT. TIGHTEN TO 35 FT. LBS. (47 NM). F. LOWER VEHICLE. G. INSTALL DIPSTICK, CHECK TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL, CORRECT IF REQUIRED AND CLOSE HOOD.
