The early 1983 production THM 125 transmission, non-converter clutch models, were manufactured using a second design auxiliary control valve assembly. This design gives non-converter clutch model the same auxiliary control valve body castings as the converter clutch models except that there are no machined bores or tapped holes for valves and switches.
When servicing any non-converter clutch model 1980 or 1981 THM 125 transmission and replacement of the control valve assembly is necessary, the second design auxiliary control valve assembly will be part of the unit. The control valve to case spacer plate gaskets and sidecover are included in the service package, but are also available separately.
Order control valve assembly packages by model as defined in the following chart:

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
